Do Bocce Ball and Networking mix?
I had no idea what a game of Bocce Ball entailed until a few weeks ago. It was interesting to learn that some people take Bocce Ball games very seriously!

The Freedom Skater… Empowerment – In, Fear – Out!
I had a chance to chat with Austin Szelkowski, AKA, The Freedom Skater, on Saturday, at his send-off party to skate across America. It was a cold and windy September day here in Michigan, after one hot summer, but a few of us his core supporters braved the chill to see him off.
Austin should have started skating today (Labor Day), around noon, somewhere in the vicinity of the Statue of Liberty in NYC. He plans on skating around New York for several days, after which time, he will skate down to North Carolina. Once in NC, he will follow the I-40 route all the way to Santa Monica, California. Austin will make stops at universities, colleges and high schools along the way, to encourage students to overcome their fears and pursue their true freedoms through personal empowerment.

Full of Hot Air
While enjoying my Saturday with friends at the annual Hot Air Balloon Festival in Howell, Michigan, I have watched local businesses launch above our heads… In hot air balloons that is. First-timers observed intently, as I gazed into the sky, then at balloons still on the ground, ready to sneak into one of the baskets and tag along.
My desire to experience the floating phenomena stemmed from seeing the movie “Around the World in 80 Days” as a child. Ever since, I considered giving hot air balloons a try. Perhaps, next year…
